Early this morning, an insistent ringing on my front door woke me up. Bleary-eyed and still in my pajamas I toppled out of bed and opened the door just to see…Two Koreans, asking me to let them in!
During our last two days in Tokyo, it was raining non stop, which was quite a shame, since we had planned an early morning trip to Tsukiji fish market. Since none of us had no felt like getting up at 4 in the morning with the rain poring down our backs, and since I had visited Tskuji previously and seen the tuna auctions, we decided to make our Tskuji visit a lunch excursion instead
The big shopping spree yesterday never really took off. The reason why? The Häagen-Dazs café and its mouthwatering ice cream desserts. Instead of entering shopaholic mode in Victoria’s Secret we entered ice cream monster mode in Häagen Dazs and had each our piece of their delicious, hot fudge and raspberry sprinkled dessert heaven.
Sometimes things do not go as planned, and as for yesterday night, it turned out a bit different than expected.
We started with a buffet dinner at the Dunes Cafe at Shangri-La,-so far, so good. For a small additional charge, even drinks (including alcoholic beverages) are included, so of course we went for that option.
Yesterday we started out in Mall of the Emirates, where we had lunch with a view to the indoor ski slope. Afterwards, we visited the Gold Souk, which is in the old part of Dubai. We had only just stepped out of the taxi before we were bombarded with offers to buy fake Rolex watches and replica handbags.
Cheesecake Factory is one of those places that never lets you down and even though some might say that Cheesecake Factory just another chain restaurant without a soul, to me Cheesecake Factory is the essence of much of what I love about USA.
When we were visiting Los Angeles in September, Rikke and Tina noticed this nice-looking place, Aroma Bakery & Cafe on Sunset Blvd. Though, it was not until our last day in LA that they finally managed to convince Poul and I to join them for breakfast there. It was quite a shame that we did not get there earlier, since Aroma Bakery & Café turned out to be a wonderful place.
