I just got home from the King Arthur premiere and I think I like it. Charlie Hunnam is hot, Jude Law is creepy, and the story is fast-paced and almost..hip? There’s a giant snake involved, and David Beckham makes a short appearance too.
When I’m watching movies with actors who have been featured in other movies, I can’t help associating them with the previous characters they’ve played. So Jude Law will always be Alfie to me, and Charlie Hunnam (I just found out his real name today) will always be the guy from Sons of Anarchy, because that’s where I first saw him. And Shawn Carter will always be Jay-Z.
One thing I couldn’t help noticing was the absence of nude scenes. Could be because they’ve done some cutting down here (wouldn’t be the first time), but no matter what, it still shows that you can make a great movie, or TV for that sake, without naked people in every second frame (yes, I’m looking at you Game of Thrones).
As for the event itself tonight, it was quite chaotic to put it mildly. The line to the counter, where we were to pick up our tickets was long as hell, and I really, really hate waiting in line.
When I finally reached the counter, they couldn’t find my name on the list. It happens a lot down here, because people think my real name is Mitzie Mee, and they’ll put me under M instead of S. Anyway, I got my ticket and took my seat right when the first trailer started.
I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but the older I get, the less patience I have, and a free premiere ticket doesn’t really change that. So in the future, I think I’ll just wait for the movies to come on Netflix, so I can watch them at home, in my couch, which usually doesn’t have a line.
